About me
Teays Valley’s rural setting serves about 4,420 students with 21% being students with disabilities and 38% economically disadvantaged. Its focus on supporting a diverse range of learners, provides a unique opportunity to implement equitable and inclusive practices like those emphasized in Building Thinking Classrooms. I am a secondary math instructional coach and I have the pleasure of supporting approximately 30 educators (intervention specialists included) who are passionate about getting their students to believe they are mathematicians. They emphasize what students do know and allow what students don’t know drive their instruction.
