About me
I work at Point Grey Secondary in the Vancouver School Board, located in a relatively high socioeconomic status (SES) area. The school serves a diverse student body and is traditionally academic-oriented, with a focus on high academic achievement. While Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) practices are not yet implemented at the school level except myself, I am actively engaged at the school and district level, where there is a growing focus on integrating innovative, student-centered teaching practices like BTC. The Vancouver School Board is increasingly exploring student-centered approaches that promote collaborative problem-solving and conceptual understanding. At the district level, I work with colleagues to ensure that all students, regardless of background, have access to rich and engaging mathematical learning experiences that foster autonomy and deeper learning.
